Preparing for Christmas

With the festive season upon us, now is the time to start preparing for Christmas. And we don’t mean putting the decorations up, ordering the turkey and eating loads of mince pies, we mean preparing our bodies, skin and hair because we all know that beauty comes from within!

So preparing for Christmas shouldn’t bring stress or worry, this is your time to get ready for a fun-filled holiday with plenty of partying and celebrating. Here’s our top tips…

Hair

  • Believe it or not, diet plays a vital role in hair health so we recommend eating foods that are rich in Omega 3, 6 and 9 as well as oily foods like sardines and salmon to keep your hair shiny and moisturised.
  • Deep conditioning hair masks are also vital during the lead up to Christmas especially because we tend to put our locks through a lot more in terms of heat styling for those festive parties. If you are trying to save money to buy your Christmas gifts, then you can make your own hair mask at home by blending avocado and egg yolk in a blender, apply to your hair and leave for 15-20 minutes, rinse out and then shampoo and condition as usual.

Eyes

  • We all know our eyes are the windows to our souls so keep yours looking bright and healthy ready for wearing that gorgeous makeup over Christmas. A simple at-home remedy for tired eyes that are puffy and have dark circles. Is to apply a thick slice of cucumber to each eye and relax for 20 minutes in a dark, quiet room.
  • Sleep, sleep and more sleep! We all know that we are well and truly into party season, but when you can, catch up on your sleep to improve the appearance and health of your peepers.

Skin

  • Makeup looks its best on clear, healthy and soft skin. The harsh winter weather and too many late nights over the festive season can leave it looking dull and feeling dry. Keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water (plus this will help with the hangovers!).
  • This time of year is when we will indulge a little more than we should! So have a guilt-free Christmas day and boxing day by decreasing your sugar intake now! Cut back on fizzy drinks, cakes and mince pies that can harm your skin and cause spots for a glowing, gorgeous complexion.
